Documentary // The Look of Silence
The Look of Silence is actually the companion piece for The Act of Killing. This film tells the story of the 1965 genocide from the perspective of a family of survivors. Focusing on an eye doctor named Aldi, the movie features around his confrontation and sought after confession from his brother's murderers. The Look of Silence is a more approachable and less controversial film than The Act of Killing, allowing it to reach viewers at a less mind-boggling level while still sending valuable messages and teaching incredible cultural lessons. Joshua Oppenheimer has made a serious impact on the education of this insanely overlooked historical event and I am excited to spread the news of this stellar resource.
